Just collect your breadloaf ends in the freezer for a while.

Unwanted crusts


Put the crusts on a baking tray and place in the oven at gas mark 3 (165 °C; 325 °F). The crusts are cooked when they are consistently golden brown across the bread side.

Place the crusts in a freezer bag on a worksurface or cutting board and roll them into crumbs with a rolling pin.

The bag stops the crumbs going everywhere.

Collect in a jar for future use.
