Beans On Toast - Student version


A much derided (English) dish but this contains the complementary proteins from the pulses and the grain, together with many vitamins and fibre, so don't knock it.

This recipe contains the following types of ingredient: plants and fungi.


400 gm tin
beans in tomato sauce
slices wholemeal bread


Open the can and put the beans in a saucepan on medium to heat up, stir now and then to prevent sticking and burning.

Toast the bread on both sides.

When the beans are bubbling and the toast is ready, pour the beans on the toast.

Eat whilst still hot.
